After a few years of being completely and madly in love with each other, we started talking about getting married. The thought of getting married just felt right in every sense of it. We knew we were a match made by the trinity, it all just had to be God. It was obvious in many ways that God himself planned it so we just went with the flow and followed God's lead.
About 2 years ago we picked a date and thought it would be really nice if we could get married on that day bla bla bla so we prayed and just started having background plans and that was it.
I did not realise Tunde had other things in mind, Tunde's sister yemi got married in Nigeria on the 30th of may 2009 and you know as a good Nigerian girl, i was at the beck and call of Tunde's mum trying to help her out with everything and looking after all her guests, suddenly from nowhere i heard Tunde call out my full names on the public address system,(this was infront of about 2000 people) initially i just thought he was acknowledging me as he was doing the vote of thanks until he called out my names again and asked me to please come to the front. My heart suddenly started beating really fast as i was wondering what on earth he was up to, i made my way to the front (very timidly)and when i got there my beloved Tunde said somethings that i can't remember now and went down on one knee and asked Olufunke Idowu will you marry me? Still in shock from the big suprise i was just standing saying what on earth are you doing until he said, say something and i said YES three times really fast and busted out laughting. Immediately i pulled him off the stage through the first exit i saw, went outside and really screemed my head off as i could not believe it. He gave me a white gold engagement ring which i seriously love......Oh what a day that was!!!!!!
